Family Fun Day at Ferry Meadows - Event Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we’ve had to cancel this year’s Family Fun Day at Ferry Meadows which was scheduled for 10th July.
Anna's message
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to postpone this event again for the third time, but due to the extension of the COVID restrictions we have found ourselves with no choice but to postpone the Family funfest until 2022.
First of all thank you to everyone who has supported us and apologies to anyone who has been inconvenienced in any way but there are now just to many obstacles to make this event viable.
Some of the issues we are faced with.
The date for restrictions to be lifted has been put back to the 19th July in the government’s announcement.
This is AFTER our planned event.
The current restrictions state that “Outdoor large performances and sporting events must have a maximum capacity of 4,000 people or must only be half full, whichever is lower”. It would also be impossible to police as there are multiple entrances/exits into the park.
Outdoor events need careful management so as to keep it as safe as possible and the security implications to the COVID restrictions would cost and eye watering amount of money which we just afford.
There are other issues that have potential to put a spanner in the works but I’m sure you get the idea.
We also want to acknowledge/apologise to whoever has tried to get hold of us over the last few weeks.
We heard the rumours through the media hinting that the lockdown may be extended, and rightly or wrongly we decided that the best course of action when the queries started rolling in was to press the pause button and wait for the announcement as we couldn’t give an answer with any confidence until we knew what we were dealing with!
Once again we are really sorry to have to do this. We have worked tirelessly over the last 12 months for this one and had an amazing day lined up, but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.
2022, I will not be having participants taking place to Bike Run or Walk 4 their chosen air ambulance.
We really hope you understand.
As I did in 2020 you have the two options,
Ferry Meadows have given us June 18th 2022 for our next event, so for those that have paid already, you can either forward your money for the June 18th 2022 event or have a refund ☹
I do have a record of who has paid and who hasn’t
I am so sorry for this, it was taken out of my hands
Anna
