Family Funfest 2019

SPONSORS OF THIS EVENT

BRoW4  A Family Fun Day for the Air Ambulances, at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough, Saturday 22nd June 2019

2019 was the 5th year that BRoW4 have held this event and it’s a fantastic family day out that raises much needed funds to support the UK's air ambulances.  If you'd like to know more about this event, keep reading! We've got videos of some of the acts that performed live music at previous events and several photos that captured a lot of the action on the day in 2019. A lot of these people will be entertaining you again on  Saturday 10th July  2021

Our Compères

Andy J from Andy J Entertainment and Matt and Pete from House of Fun Radio did a wonderful job of co-hosting the event on the day and making sure that everything ran very smoothly on the stage, as well as entertaining the crowds between the acts. Children enjoyed the limbo challenge, and the quiz between East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Children's Air Ambulance representatives was a lot of fun.

2019 was an amazing day for us weather-wise. We really couldn't have asked for better! The always smiling Marcin was absolutely fabulous and donated the use of his lorry for a stage, rolled up his sleeves to get everything set up on time, and his son cooked some Polish food for the crowds too!

The children were kept entertained by dinosaurs, princesses, Spiderman, Captain America, games, bouncy castles and more besides! They had their faces painted by the lovely Sian-Louise Gardiner and Amir Shaz kept them all cool with his lovely ice creams.

For the adults there was a large selection of stalls selling a wide variety of items, plus food and alcohol were on offer too. Some families brought along chairs and blankets and made themselves at home in front of the stage with a picnic, and there were the young of heart who joined in the fun!

We had two of the air ambulance charities that we support come along with a gazebo, sharing information as well as raising some much needed funds for their charities. We thought that East Anglia Air Ambulance had a new (and very cute) recruit, but unfortunately he was given a new home at the end of the day with a lucky raffle winner! The inflatable helicopter was amazing at drawing people over to learn about the many incidents that the air ambulances attend.

Community First Responders gave several demonstrations on how to save a life by giving CPR, and many people had the chance to have a go themselves before taking a look inside on of their ambulances at all the medical equipment that is kept on board.

Each year for the past five years, people have been able to Bike, Run or Walk around Ferry Meadows to raise sponsorship money for air ambulance charities that are close to their hearts. One very lovely lady has taken part every single year, and we hope that she is able to take part in the next 5 too! If you'd like to raise money for an air ambulance charity in 2021, then please click here for more information. We look forward to seeing everyone again on 10th July 2021

Looking to the future

BRoW4 are already working hard to make this event happen again next year - we've already set the date so mark it in your diary! Saturday 10th July 2021 from 11am. You can keep up to date with everything we have planned by clicking here.

We'd love it if we can make the day even bigger and better - but we need your help! If you would like to be a volunteer and be a part of the BRoW4 team, please call Anna on 07828 471738 or drop her an email at anna@brow4.com.

If you'd like to raise money for an air ambulance charity that's close to your heart, you can bike 12km, run 8km or walk 5km around Ferry Meadows in exchange for sponsorship money. It's not a race, and there are plenty of places to stop and admire the view. You can register to take part by purchasing a ticket here - but please be careful which ticket you select as they show us whether you will be biking, running or walking!
